This is the twelfth print in the series, but the tenth in this album, illustrating the Story of King David and represents Michal helping David escape from their house. The print was published in 1575 through the collaboration between Christopher Plantin and Philips Galle, and is dedicated to King Philip II. The inscription is by Benito Arias Montano, and the design is after Gerard van Groeningen, while the engraver remains anonymous. The scene is associated with the virtue expressed in the upper margin: “Coniugii fides” (Conjugal Fidelity). In the lower margin appears the inscription: “Alterius recte ... prospiciensq cavet.”.
