This is the fourteenth print in the series, but the thirteenth in this album, illustrating the Story of King David and represents David and the Priest Ahimelech. The print was published in 1575 through the collaboration between Christopher Plantin and Philips Galle, and is dedicated to King Philip II. The inscription is by Benito Arias Montano, and the design is after Gerard van Groeningen, while the engraver remains anonymous.
The scene is associated with the virtue expressed in the upper margin: “Pietatis privilegium” (The Privilege of Piety).
In the lower margin appears the inscription: “Nuda et inops ... bonus amplificat.” .
